Kael'thas Down!

After a painful Phase 5 wipe (losing our MT immediately after the cinematic ended due to a combination of over-excitedness on some and a bad call by me), our second phase 5 went very smoothly and Kael gave up his vial remnant. We went over to Hyjal and got our rings and we're excited about all the new raid content now open to us. It took us 8 hours of learning, less than Vashj took (about 11).

Kael Awaits(some more)

On Sunday, February 10th, with about 4 minutes to go on our Sunday raid, Al'ar died. It was a little tough on the raiders because we hadn't expected learning him to take an entire raid night, but they perservered and Illidan now thinks the Ashtongue are still loyal and Kael is still not. Al'ar's loot table was a bit disappointing, as we ended up handing everything off for offspec, but at least he was dead.

On Wednesday the 13th we headed back to TK, and short one of our Al'ar tanks we went to get Solarian instead. A refreshing change from Al'ar, she died in 2 attempts, 5 if you count the 3 we did in a spare 30 minutes almost a month ago, before we committed to SSC and Vashj. Of course, we forgot to take a screenshot. In a decision born mostly of being busy/lazy, I ended up waiting until we got her down again (earlier tonight) and got a screenshot before posting up the Al'ar and Solarian shots.

Of course, although I wasted time and didn't blog, we wasted no time heading for Kael on Sunday. We had to kill Al'ar again but once we did that we spent about 2 hours on Kael attempts and now, with some minor tweaks, I'm confident we'll have phase 2 under control tomorrow and we can see what this phase 4 hoopla is all about.
