Bloodboil down

Apparently I needed to post the Reliquary screenshot to get Bloodboil down, so now that we have Bloodboil down I'm posting it so we can get an Archimonde screenshot.

It was a night of good attempts, and we didn't have any aggro pulls until about 8% on the kill so we were able to get him down. Only took us one hour and 15 minutes of tries tonight (based on my flask timer), so we had time to go get Reliquary down again and start on Hyjal.

Reliquary of Souls Down - Belated Post

I was hoping to post this with a big "Archimonde Down!" or "Here We Come Shahraz!", but both Archimonde and Gurtogg have proved a bit trickier than hoped.

We got Reliquary of Souls down for the first time on April 16th. The key was keeping the interrupting in phase 2 simple - just 2 rogues, alternating. We were also short a healer for that night, which made phase 3 more dangerous, but certainly made phases 1 and 2 go faster.

The kill was a little chaotic - at about 30% Vast told us to go all out on DPS, he was shieldwalling. Unfortunately someone forgot to watch aggro and at about 6-10% he started wiping the raid. Of course, at that point we're all doing tons of damage due to the aura so he dropped to 1% really quickly... and stayed there. All 3 shamans ankhed, so they had the debuff reset, and Deque, our other prot warrior tanked it with a huge debuff stack while 2 shamans healed and our enhancement shaman slowly took him down from 1%->0%. Very exciting first kill.

We also got Gorefiend down, but his kill story isn't as exciting - we learned how to handle the ghosts, and we kicked his ass. We've been doing it for several weeks now.

Azgalor down - Our first T6

Hyjal is a zone that doesn't really encourage repeated wiping and attempts on a boss. On two other nights we had tried Azgalor and had gotten through his trash only to have the tank get killed at > 70%. The silences, low number of druid healers on the tank and low number of druid tanks being the tank were not working for us. So we called it both times after only 2 attempts (each second attempt ending in the trash).

So we farmed Magtheridon a bit. Man that fight is easy now. I didn't realize that if you killed all the channelers before the two-minute time limit on phase one that he broke out, so he caught us a bit offguard that first time when he broke out about 20 seconds early. Luckily after only two kills on Mag (one last Sunday and one after we killed Shade of Akama on Tuesday) we got the fourth piece of T4 for our druid tank, and we were ready for Azgalor.

So Wednesday night we went back to Hyjal and had a fairly smooth night. We had one wipe on Kaz'rogal trash when our vent server went down at a bad time and too many people alt-tabbed at the same time to fix it. But we got him down and started to get ready for Azgalor.

But it turns out we still weren't ready so we did some quick portals/summons to get SR bracers crafted for the healers to resist the silences and we got ready to go. And then my internet went down.

I rebooted the cable modem, no luck. I ended up texting Vast to tell him to replace me, but apparently it was too late - they'd already started the trash. As soon as it came back up I logged in to find myself surrounded by wave four infernals. Luckily I hadn't died during my connection outage so I didn't have to wait around for a rez.

We had a bit of a scare at the end of the trash when our prot. pally died but we burned a battle rez to get him back up (instead of saving it for Azgalor) and hoped that we wouldn't pay for that later.

Once the trash was down we fought Azgalor himself and... wow. With a druid tank(he doesn't crush) and some extra SR on the healers it seemed really easy. We soulstoned the first 3 doom victims and just let the others stay dead. His enrage timer was fairly generous and at the end, we had three shiny new T6 gloves.

Hyjal Progress - And Overdue Screenshots

So after we got Kael down we headed over to Mount Hyjal. In a move reminiscent of Deity talking to Majordomo while we were setting up the first time we got to Ragnaros, someone talked to Jaina, despite repeated comments on vent about the inadvisability of such. So we wiped. But after that we did an actual attempt and Rage is such a pushover despite wiping out half the raid due to some bad icebolts and inexperience with death and decay he still died.

Fitting with his ease, he's got the tiniest corpse ever. See if you can find it in this killshot. Hint: It's the tiny black orb.

We made some attempts on Anetheron but we really had no SR at that point and we just kept having tank deaths. We had one good 20% attempt but that was as close as it came. THe following week, armed with 6 cloaks and our BT neckpieces we were able to get him down. Being the second boss in BT, his corpse is a bit more impressive than Rage's.

Meanwhile we were still doing the occasional Vashj and Kael runs to get other people attuned, and being a 3-day a week guild, that was slowing us down. Finally though, we had the key people attuned and... the patch arrived. So it wasn't entirely necessary, although it was nice to have a bunch of Hand of Adal titles for some newly attuned people. Braving the post-patch UI woes we went into Hyjal on patch day and killed Rage and Anetheron. We then went on to try Kaz'Rogal. At first having the gargoyles come from behind caught us offguard but we made it through the trash on our first attempt and promptly lost our tank 10 seconds into the Kaz fight. With time for a few more attempts left we picked ourselves back up and tried him again. Despite a rocky start on the trash we managed to catch back up and got Kaz'rogal on our next attempt.

Following the trend, the third boss has a much cooler-looking corpse. Witness our glory:

Sorry for the long delay. When we return, screenshots from our first 3 BT kills(2 of them from last Sunday).
